Logia in part 1 was essentially invincibility and op as fuck. Then we learn about haki and everyone has it so logia is useless.

Wg invincibility looks like the same thing, just replace haki with conquerors haki.

I still think making CoC the counter was a poor decision tbh

People were already complaining about there being too many CoC users in the story. If they thought we had a lot before I can’t wait to see how they’ll feel as we get closer to the end

I dont think so, 50 people with coc in a world of billions isnt much if you look at the greater scale, and we are with the top of the top of the world.

Yes, but Logia’s were better because Oda at least tried multiple ways to deal with it. Seastone, Haki, individual matchups to the fruit. Plus, even once you can touch a logia, the logia can still do interesting things with their powers.

This is just a power that’s pointless against anyone who can deal with it, and the way for dealing with it is arbitrarily locked to the characters Oda choses. CoA did reduce the need for Oda to come up with interesting methods of dealing with Logias, not denying that. But at least it was a method that anyone could learn, unlike CoC.

If CoC is 1 in a million then most major countries/islands (like Alabasta) have at least a few people born with CoC wandering around

1 in a 1M isn't much when you have a cast of a few million characters.

But when you have 1000 characters, of which only about 100 will appear in the big EOS battle, and of those 100 half have that very unique power-up, than uniqueness goes out of the window.

Within the world of One Piece it isn’t actually that rare

But as a reader it feels rare but the rarity will go out the window once so many characters get it

Well to be fair we are reading mainly about the 100 most important people lol.

But I guess that's why we need more stuff like Fan Letter to remind us how insane some of these guys are compared to the rest of the verse.

Many powerscalers will look down on characters in the lower YC category for instance but those guys in a different setting in OP would be gods, they're just big fishes in an even bigger ocean after all.

Yeah. I claimed Gunko to be the new Monet since day 1. Look it up. Regen merchant that is easily defeated by someone with the correct tools (AdCoc or eq).

I also differiented between Gunko and Shamrock. That dude seems to be the real deal even without regen. Think of him like Ace that got praised by BB even without his logia, or Aokiji that showed his hand to hand prowess vs Garp.

Highly doubt it. A retcon Doffy upon return should be > Summers, Kilingham, Gunko. He has real world experience, just give him the AdCoC to fight back and there is no doubt in my mind he'd beat the three of them 1 vs 1. And if he got regen (say to replace a HK that falls in this arc) putting them on even ground it should be even more of a no brainer.
