I'm going to begin every theory I make by saying I hate presenting theories and I hate talking to people about them! Why? Because I never get positive feedback. Ever. However, I'm going to point out that you should expect crazy theories for a crazy story like One Piece. What are you expecting? Everything to be perfectly reasonable? Ha! That's a laugh.
I noticed something strange concerning the Time Fruit's ability. The Time Fruit's ability does not work in reverse. You can only go forward in time, and not backward. The fact that time travel does not work in this manner in the story means the following:
1. Time paradoxes caused by going back in time don't exist. Why? You simply can't go back in time.
2. Time paradoxes caused by going forward in time don't exist. Why? You can't go forward in time, and then come back to the original timeline.
That's the significance of Kozuki Toki's Devil Fruit ability being able to go forward in time, but not backward. Time paradoxes don't exist, and therefore alternate dimensions that could be created by such an action do not exist either.
To explain this clearly ...
A) The action of going back in time and removing elements from history may change the fate of the universe and create the birth of a parallel universe that has a different fate from the original timeline.
B) The action of going forward in time, and then coming back to the original timeline, may cause the birth of a parallel universe that has a separate historical timeline.
If there were elements in history that were changed... that normally causes the birth of a new universe separate from the original timeline.
If someone went to the future, and then came back to the original timeline, after witnessing the future they could change it... that normally causes the birth of a new universe separate from the original timeline.
So, the reason that the Devil Fruit ability cannot go back in time is to prevent time paradoxes and parallel universes from being created.
