It's unfortunate that pretty much everyone except for the fringe watches of anime forgot about both of those series.

Going to take a leap and go with Spider Riders since Medabots without their specific medals to activate them are just robots smaller than an average-sized kid.

The spiiders arent much bigger then kids ether, you have to remember that hunter and corona arent much bigger then their spiders

this is corona next to ventus as a example

Anime itself is not fringe, it's quite popular just more often then not shows from the past are lost to time
It's not helped that the anime community is not a thing, With it pretty much only being manga fans who know little about anime original projects
