I think at this point Oda created a very strong similarity between Roger Pirates, Red Hair Pirates and Strawhat Pirates.
All three these crew share having relatively small numbers (low quantity for high quality), their captain owning the famed (and fated?) straw hat, their first mate being a strong badass motherfucker who is close to his captain in both strength and behaviors.
The parallel between Roger Pirates and Strawhats is well known (Roger -> Luffy, Rayleigh -> Zoro, Oden -> Yamato, Gaban -> Sanji, Sunbell -> Jinbe, Seagull -> Franky, Crocus -> Chopper and so on).
After the latest movie we have official confirmed infos and elements to make a parallel between Red Hair Pirates and Strawhats as well.
Shanks -> Luffy
Obvious. Same role as the crew's captain. Very similar behavior (except Shanks's mysterious and ambiguous side, they act the same, being jovial and casual in every situation but becoming demons when their friends are threatened). Conqueror Haki. The hat and what not.
Benn Beckman -> Zoro
Obvious as well. Same as the close and trusted captain's right-hand man with a Sun/Moon dynamic. Same stoic behavior. Both have immensely powerful attack power and Haki (does Benn have CoC and Adv CoC as well?).
They are canonically paired together many times, between the latest movie and other issues.
Lucky Loo -> Sanji
I mean could Oda be more obvious than this? Both cooks. Both strong legs. Both are not good with women despite being interested in them.
Yasopp -> Usopp
Father and son. Sniper and sniper. CoO talent and CoO talent. Nothing else to say, the parallel is just blatant.
Well, if not for the fact that Yasopp is very strong and the third strongest in Red Hair Pirates, while Usopp is relatively weak and basically the weakest member of the Strawhats...
Monster -> Chopper
You could literally copy paste Monster's description to Chopper as animals who behave as humans and wounded with them, and it would still work perfectly. And the opposite as well.
