Theory Teach vs Kaido is the finale of the Yamato cover story

#1
There was no outright confirmation that Kaido died. He went into the magma, but the volcano explosion creates a possible avenue for his return.

My theory:
  • Kaido survived, but following his loss and the destruction of his crew, Kaido gave up on conquering wano. He now just wants to live a quiet life away from society.
  • Yamato encounters Kaido on her travels. He is badly injured from the magma and Luffy’s attack, he does not wish to fight her.
  • Teach attacks wano, destroying the giant walls so that he can get to pluton
  • Teach beats Yamato and Momo
  • Kaido attacks Teach, in hopes that Teach can actually kill him
  • Momo, Yamato, and Kin go in search of Luffy, now that Wano’s borders have fallen and the kingdom is defenseless
  • Cover story end

This leads to 3 things:
  • Yamato and co. reuniting with Luffy during elbaf
  • Teach killing Kaido and acquiring the seiryu fruit
  • The BBP getting Pluton

Something is missing in the sequesnce here. I would appear as if Kaido wants to protect Yamato, when he has no reason to, even if he is her father. He put her in exploding handcuffs even before she fought against him.
I suggest you put King somehow in that gap. He could serve as a bridge between them, and besides, Lunarians seem to be the only thing Teach is afraid of for some reason.

Kaido would fight Teach because he wants a glorious death in battle

Yes, I read that, but the timing might suggest what I said, which sits wrong with the plot. If King joins in at that moment, he could be the one trying to defend Yamato (for their Joy Boy connection), and also he would do anything for Kaido.
If you add him to your theory he could join Yamato in the end and fulfill his long awaited dream of meeting Joy Boy.
