High level swordsmanship & Haki go hand in hand. When Brannew said Mihawk's swordsmanship is superior to Shanks' own, he obviously meant that Mihawk's swordsmanship enhanced by Mihawk's Haki is superior to Shanks' swordsmanship enhanced by Shanks' Haki. Anything else is retarded cope.
