General & Others The Current problems in the Manga either stem from or were present in Dressrosa.

People only like Dressrosa now. When that arc was running week to week..... It was trashed 100 times worse than Wano was, and that's no word of a lie.

It is pretty funny though as someone whose been around for so long to see that every new arc is "The Worst arc in One Piece" and the arc before all of a sudden "Wasn't as bad as they thought." Next arc will be no different, and Wano will become "a pretty good arc, once you go back and read it in one go." Such is how it always is.

From the horrible pacing, structure issues, lack of character development, bad side characters forced into the story, to not giving any other strawhats importance, and entire chapters that were total unnecessary, and the Arc taking 100 chapters. all of the problems were in Dressrosa.

And yet people love it and say it's a "good" arc.
Don't know about that, many people disliked and still dislike Dressrosa

Punk Hazard had a lot of these issues as well. But it wasn't as bad as Dressrosa. imo
This is where the problems started taking forms. Oda wasted countless pages making you care about Kinemon + Momo, Brownbeard who terrorized innocent people, and the terrible body switch plot that went nowhere.

Law is a cool character but he ultimately destroyed the old structure of the crew by being able to do everything the main cast can do. Its obvious Oda doesn't really have a plan for his development because he was never intended to be part of the story.

Smoker and Tashigi who used to be OG fan favorites were ridiculed, and took a backseat was a foreshadowing of the main characters becoming less important in the NW.

I will say Fishman Island is where the problems started to appear. Dressrosa is basically just amplifying the problems even more.
FI did have its share of problems especially the villain not being a threat. Its the last arc where I feel the Straw Hats were still the main characters. Its the banter, the teamwork, and the way the crew plays off each other that keeps me reading. Everyone gets their moment to shine or do something. The royal family did not kick out the main cast out of the spotlight in the finale. I really like the message of this arc, and how it goes full circle with Arlong, and Nami.

Fishman Island is actually my favorite arc, the sise characters weren't annoying even the Princess quickly stopped being a crybaby early on, the flashback was one of the better ones that not only gave us Jimbei's and Fisher Tiger's story but alrongs without making him simpathetic or trying to excuse his actions during Alrong Park, without it feeling dragged out. And while the New Fishment Pirates weren't the best, I'd put the officers on par with Enel's underlings maybe a little higher with how distinct each one looked.
And while they weren't a threat to the Strawhats, I think that was the point of them, as the Last test of Paradice. If Fishman Island happened before the timeskip, this would have been the arc we would see Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji start awakening their haki, and go all out with the New Fishman Pirates before entering the New World.

Nah, Dressrosa was greatly disliked at the time and is still generally disliked here. Dressrosa was the benchmark for shit tier pacing in One Piece before Wano came along.

Sure, folk here will praise specific aspects of Dressrosa such as the antagonist Doffy, Law's backstory and (most of) the final fight but they will also dunk on it just as much.

Dressrosa only looks popular on this forum compared to Wano and WCI simply because those two are just far more hated in comparison.

Dressrosa has a good story. Great villain. Great moments. Great power up from Luffy.

WCI and Wano has nothing of that.

Zou was also good.
