So the most recent chapter confirms that the working theory as to why a person can't eat two devil fruits is wrong. There is no devil inside. So we have no explanation at all. My theory as that you actually can eat multiple devil fruits. The only person we ever saw try to eat a second devil fruit was fine, and actually obtained a second power. Maybe the world government spread this lie in order to prevent people from gaining too much power, but Im and maybe the gorosei actually have multiple devil fruits. Maybe there's nothing special about Blackbeard that allows this, it's just that he knows the truth. Thoughts?

Maybe once he reaches Laugh Tale Nika will spill the beans, or Vegapunk will tell us more about it when he's with Luffy.

Oda now said, you can wish for devil fruit existence lmao. That line made me chuckle. Fanboys going to call Oda a genius for writing that. And yep so far it is worse than Wano. Oda always surpasses my expectations of how bad he is.

Jabra already said it first. You can't eat two devil fruits cuz your body will break as two powers are fighting inside you. Teach probably has a special body or power that makes him stores two or more devil fruits but Oda has to explain that soon.

Exactly, Jabra said the two devils inside fight, and your body explodes. But we just learned that devil fruits have nothing do with devils. They are simply wishes made real. So Jabra's explanation is wrong, hence my theory.

You don't learn the name of the fruit once you eat it, in the sense that it just magically pops into your head. A Devil Fruit is named after the ability it gives. When you eat a Devil Fruit, you learn what kind of ability it grants, hence you learn the name of the fruit. In Luffys case, the Nika fruit acts like a rubber fruit, until it awakens. So upon eating it, one would naturally assume it's a rubber fruit.
