The DF in the chests that we saw on God Valley will be spread across the island for the slaves and natives to find and eat to make the hunt more interesting.
That's how some of our favorite characters will eat their Fruits. BM will find Kaido's uneaten fruit when they invade God valley.
Hancock said that the Celestials feed her her DF for their own entertainment, so this will be a similar situation.

I hope to see Whitebeard consume Gura, just like Kaido consuming the Legendary Azure Dragon Uo Uo no Mi model.
