Hey guys, this is a quick theory that almost seems true to me at this point...About what Luffy's dream could be:
In a manuscript that Oda did not adopt and was very recently (today) released by Sandman_AP of Twitter, Roger said that whoever finds his treasure can buy the whole world:
This statement is later referenced again in the actual manga by Gaimon, who says Luffy can buy the world after he finds the One Piece:
What if this is Luffy's dream all along? I mean certainly, it fits the description of a childish dream, and it would match Luffy's dream being accomplished after he finds the One Piece, or rather, once he becomes Pirate King.
One Piece is indeed Everything this world has to offer, wealth, fame, and power, so everything this world has to offer is obtained through buying the world, and maybe that can only be obtained through the ONE PIECE? Could it be a contract to the world from ancient times? Perhaps the people who first found Earth put a price on it, and that's where the whole story begins! This would also tie in with Enel's otherworldly adventures:
Through buying the world, Luffy technically owns the world, and can do whatever he wants with it. What if in that case, one example can be, he gives everyone food and freedom?
Let me know what you guys think of this.
