Speculations The Energy Steroids The Deeper Connection between The Fishmen and the Minks.

After seeing Carrot’s Sulong transformation with her Fur turning White and her eyes turning red, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Energy Steroids and the transformation Hody Jones had during the Fishman Island arc.
We know that both Zou and Fishman Island have two of the strongest ties with the Void Century right up they with Alabasta and Mary Gouse. Maybe that’s why they where considered a “national Treasure”
Did ancient Fishman Island try and copy the Minks Sulong transformation? With how similar the transformations are to each other a connection is undeniable. What if the Energy Steroids were a failed attempt to give the Fishmen their own Transformation but they couldn’t perfect it, and the accelerated aging was the side effect.

Interesting catch! Being that they’re both inhuman races, I wonder if their genetics would allow them to utilize each other’s powers in the way you’ve described...maybe Vegapunk will have something to say on the matter once he’s finally unveiled?

I always though the Energy Steroid was an amusing twist on the Hero Water from Alabasta.

These four elite warriors drink a potion of last resort for the sake of their country. In exchange for their lives, they gain superhuman strength for a few minutes (don't ask me how they survived the trek to the palace).

A noble cause, right? They die a hero's death?

Crocodile didn't even grace these schmucks with the dignity of his presence.

In Fishman Island, it's the villains taking a sacred treasure and using it against the people. But they're not called Champion Pills or Guardian Medicine. Hody is very clearly a roided up druggie. Luckily for Hody, the Energy Steroid is not completely unusable by killing the user a few minutes after consuming it. Fishman Island screwed itself by a making last resort drug that was too good. It would be funny seeing someone like Bonney abuse a loophole of overdosing on Steroids with one hand and de-aging herself with the other.
