As our reality assured us, there's no way that some day will be such automatization that people won't be necessary besides it, still having a need for a precision of human eyes, taste, smell, hearing and hands. As we used to have a boom for crypto currency now just an obscure part of society is interested in it, same thing will happen to NFT. Both of those eats much more energy than a normal computer due to that humanity, as a collective that is more and more aware about the mother earth and it's state, pessimistically takes a look on those. We know the internet and that small businesses becomes more popular and due to that with more interest people look at hand made things to buy. I talk right now about the middle class who has money to buy once or twice in a while something like that, if not much often. Besides that, humans has something what machines don't, which is creativity what will always give us a work. We just have to stop being a pussy, stand up and go to work or educate yourself to get a job what you really want. Besides, I don't know where starts the virtual reality in your meaning and where desk job ends, man.

I don't think robots and AIs would ruin the economy like many people said. Like you could say that people loses their jobs and stuff but when computers were invented, it changed the whole world yet humans are the ones that functions them. If you have AIs to works for you then that's cool, if people want to works then that's also on them.
