I think it’s one thing when Luffy or Law pull awakening against legitimately tough fights like Lucci or Teach.
But the gorosei have been using awakening outright casually.
Look at Saturn in egghead or the gorosei going 6v1 against Sabo. These aren’t tough fights and the gorosei tbh have no reason to use awakening this casually.
What this suggests to me is that there is surely a level of DF mastery above the basic awakenings we have seen so far. Otherwise Oda would have shown the gorosei’s full power right off the bat for no reason.
This makes sense as we have at least two major battles left: against the BBP and against the CDs.
Oda needs to come up with some way for Luffy to beat Teach and Imu, this is probably it. Kid and Law also didn’t get ryuo in wano, so while I think they could definitely get some haki buffs(law got his DF negation haki), I think “second awakening” makes sense for a future power up for them as well.
