I know the mecha genre is becoming a dominant theme in the One Piece manga, and that the Iron Giant may be someone's invention. However, there's a chance that the Iron Giant wasn't a robot to begin with. Perhaps it faced a fate similar to Zunisha's, being punished and then turned into a robot, much like how Sugar turned Dressrosa's inhabitants into living toys.
