Character Discussion The Irony of Garling: Brief analysis

"anyone who protects scum are worst than scum they protect"

This coming from a guy who protect the scumiest people in the world is crazy.

How did he get here
Why does he thinks this way
What are his reasons

A subtle but powerful dialogue to make the readers interested in a character.

Will Oda be able to properly write this character? I have my doubts but I will keep a close eye.

If kids were born in a communist country without prior background knowledge about communism, they would think communism is the best thing in the world.

Same thing here, Garling is probably trained at birth about how Celestial Dragons are "Gods" of the world.
Hmm that's for every celestial dragon.

But does he have a deeper reasons?

He has seen the world as a king as a knight as a fake god.

The Winner's phylosophy is always right.. So your point is irrelevant..

I feel like he put him in their to “keep him safe” but Rox thought that chest was treasure and took him, and Figarland didn’t care enough to take him back.
So is shanks a scum now to him?

Even tho he's supposed to be One of the people in charge of the world and his literal son.

I thinks he cares but there was no way for them to get shanks back...

When shanks grew up he was different from them and was too late

I think it's pretty clear his line of thinking is the same a the other CD's or the Gorosei, even if he ha seen moe of the world than them.
Just thinking Fishmen are inferior or "scum" shows us this.

Even the gorosei thinks of fishmen differently and used jimbei as a tool to have some peace with fishmen.

Garling is also different with normal cd.

Shanks would absolutley be scum. He has the bloodline of the creators and he uses his strength to defend these weaklings. No way Figarland cares about him now
