Hi Worstgen,
Over a year ago, though it's been deleted, I made posts about how I believed the story would unfold. It involved this plotline from the Star Trek series.
Star Trek
- The first beings in the universe were called, "The Founders" or some crap. The Founders created, "Children" because they were lonely. They were the only people in the universe that they knew of, so they decided to make the "Children". The Children were known as The Iconians. The Iconians were later known as the most advanced civilization throughout the universe. However, something like 200,000 years ago they were attacked by several different groups who created an alliance against them. Why did they do this? They wanted to steal their technology.
One Piece
- During the Void Century, over 800 years ago, a civilization with advanced technology and great ideals was attacked by several different groups who created an alliance against them called the Alliance of Twenty Kingdoms. Why did they do this? I would suppose it was because they wanted to steal their technology.
However, this makes you wonder why they needed to steal their technology. Why couldn't they just ask for it?
The Prime Directive in Star Trek
- The Prime Directive in Star Trek was created to prohibit starship crew members from permitting unprepared civilizations to be given information about technology, knowledge, and values. By giving unprepared civilizations information about technology, knowledge, or values, they are influencing the natural progression of a civilization. The results of an action such as this are considered to be invariably dangerous, and may lead to the loss of countless lives.
The "Prime Directive" in One Piece
- It is implied that a form of the, "Prime Directive" was used by the ancient civilization. Why do I think this? I think this because of the action taken against them by the many groups who created an alliance. this leads me to my main point- why did the Alliance of Twenty Kingdoms attack the Ancient Civilization with advanced technology and great ideals? I will explain below.
The War between the Twenty Kingdoms and the Ancient Civilization
- The War between the Twenty Kingdoms and the Ancient Civilization occurred because the Ancient Civilization would not give technology, knowledge, or values, to the many groups who created an alliance against them. I suspect each of the kingdoms from the Alliance of Twenty Kingdoms had previously begged the Ancient Civilization to support them as allies in the past. For example, by providing new forms of medicine or advanced weapons systems. However, the Ancient Civilization refused to support them because the values each of the kingdoms had were unacceptable. Some of them were completely untrustworthy, too. If the Ancient Civilization gave people knowledge about new medicine, then they could also use that knowledge to create new forms of poisons/viruses/disease. If the Ancient Civilization gave people advanced forms of weaponry to protect themselves, they could also use it to attack other people. This is precisely why the Ancient Civilization refused to give people technology, knowledge, or values. Though, they would consider giving some groups of people these things if they really liked them and found them trustworthy. The Alliance of 20 Kingdoms was very, very untrustworthy. I'd call them treacherous (like pirates). They'd lie to get what they want especially if it meant gaining power.
Okay. That's the gist of the idea. I'm sure that I will add more to it... or maybe not.

Oh, yeah, actually... this is how I came up with my theory about what the One Piece is.
- The One Piece is similar to the World Heart which the Iconians use to recreate their society when it's destroyed.
- In other words, I made a theory about how the One Piece is likely an item which allows the Clan of D to recreate the Ancient Civilization.
In any case, people reading this- it is important to know other fictional works with similar storylines. Ancient civilizations with ancient technology is an old plot device. It's been done a million times. Though, maybe not in anime.
The World Heart
- The World Heart was an ancient artifact created by the Iconian species countless thousands of years ago. It contains all information about the Iconian race, such as genetic information from all species of their homeworld and their colony worlds and all the species' culture, history and philosophy.
The One Piece
- The One Piece may be very similar to the World Heart of the Iconian species. It may contain all the information about the Clan of D, such as genetic information from all species of their country and their territories and all the species' culture, history and philosophy.
The main subject of this post was to discuss The Prime Directive and how it is related to the story.
