General & Others The truth about the “Oni” race

#1
Many people tend to believe that there exist a distinct tribe called the Oni, who’s Kaido is a part of.

but I tend to disagree, while I can see where people are coming from and that in OP when two different races mix, they usually tend to create a third distinct race, but in the case of these “Oni” I don’t believe that to be the case at all and while many think that Kaido is the last survivor of such race, many characters in one piece have horns, some who appeared before Kaido even.

My personal take:

I believe that race in one piece is genetic but also social, for a distinct race to exist, they must all be closely related and live together as a tribe, in the case of horned humans and even horned giants, these people didn’t create exclusive communities but rather lives scattered among regular humans.

My theory is that these people are a result of a recessive ancient giant gene that exist in many people across the globe and manifests from time to time, Kaido could’ve been born to two ordinary human parents from the Vodka kingdom and that’s it.

Ulti and Page1 were born to a no -horned human called Hanafuda, Who’s who, Black Maria are the same. Sasaki is a fish man likely with recessive ancient giant genes as well. Also don’t forget about Moria.

see where I’m coming from?

Oni are humans with ancient giant blood.
But they are not a distinct race because race is also a social construct but most horned humans aren’t related to each other, therefore, there’s no distinct race called the Oni which is now extinct(we already have lots of those) but rather, humans and many other races in general have dormant ancient giant genes that manifest in some like Kaido, Yamato, Ulti, Oage One, Sasaki, Who’s Who, Black Maria and Gecko Moria.

Giants tend to have more powerful ancient giant genes compared to the rest but even then, Harald and Loki are not a distinct race within Elbaf but socially are a part of the bigger giant race.

Remember race is a social construct first and foremost.

Perhaps it.depends how they were mixed aka who's the mother and who's the father? Or it's akin to fishmen / mermaids ?
