I believe that Oda has given us foreshadowing in each arc for what happened in the void century, most importantly Wano, of course Skypeia, Dressrosa, and Marineford. I’m gonna add some lore theory as well, Nika being the strongest conqueror, the distinction between Joyboy and Nika, Luffy becoming the strongest because of not only his inherited will, but his individual will as well, etc. I’ll can provide a bit to give a taste of what’s to come:
Luffy’s awakening, the battle the kaido is a hint of course, Marineford being literally a small glimpse of the 100 Year War, there was a Whitebeard like character for Joyboy as well, dressrosa giving us a glimpse of the “politics” the twenty kingdoms used to rule with, there’s much more. Even the anime, they’re giving Gear 5 certain elements that really helped me see that Luffy hasn’t even tapped into his full potential with his devil fruit. It’s the original one, I can prove that as well, Nika being the basis of all devil fruits, etc. I really would like to provide more detail but this really just came to me about 30 minutes ago, and I definitely want to flesh it out properly. If anybody has any thoughts, feel free to share. I’ll probably end up making multiple parts, simple headcanon (I am not a theorist, just a fan of one piece. To me it’s the greatest anime ever, oda’s writing has surpassed Shakespeare to me, honestly.
