Worstgen
There are several villains and Evil Characters in One Piece. I will go through the characters that I deem are relevant enough and redeem them. At the end I will highlight one character that's the worst. Given that there's so many antagonists and villains, I will keep redemption points short and to the point.
Some Marines that most of the fanbase consider as villains will not be included since they are already redeemed (they are good guys in canon (i.e. Nezumi, Smoker, Akainu, Fujitora, Aokiji, Kizaru, Garp, Sengoku, Onigumo, Buster Call VA, Spandam Sr., Spandam Jr., Magellan, Shiryu, VA Vergo)). I will also not include semi-redeemed in canon antagonists/villains (i.e. Alvida, Buggy, Mr.3, Kuma, Bon Clay, Bellamy, Don Chinjao, X Drake, Boa Hancock, Mihawk, Perona). Characters without extensive information/backstory will also not be included (i.e. Xebec, Gorosei, CP0, Im). I will also not include anti-heroes or characters that provide the MC a training arc (i.e. Katakuri, Rusukaina animals, Big Mom). The Villains I address will only be those Luffy has fought.
- Lord of the Coast: Survival of the Fittest. Mans was hungry. He's a vicious animal, that's what they do smh.
- Captain Kuro: He just wanted peace, is that so much to ask for after murdering countless people? He said he wouldn't do it anymore as long as he got the peace he desired. Everyone loves peace, why hate on a man planning and working diligently to attain it. Hypocrites smh.
- Don Krieg: He just wanted to be the Pirate King or the strongest pirate. He was working his ass off to get there, unfortunately he had to run into the worst possible people in his path, Mihawk and Luffy. The worlds greatest and the MC himself. Now him finessing ships and tricking people is excused since he's a pirate searching for gold, silver, money, arms, etc.
- Arlong: After what the humans did to his fellow fishmen and the death of Fisher Tiger, its not a surprise why he holds such a great resentment against them. He just wanted to play in the amusement park like a regular kid. Is that too much to ask for?
- Sir Crocodile: He aimed to be Pirate King but failed after getting stopped by a Yonko, the strongest one in fact. So he set up shop in an island complementing his abilities and orchestrated a heist to steal an Ancient Weapon even the World Government are thirsty for. He even allied with someone able to read its writings. Sure he had hundreds of people killed and plummeted a country into civil war in the process, but that's what happens the people and strongest warriors of a nation are just so weak. Crocodile is cunning and has the sharpest tools in the shed catered for each scenario, Bon Clay for infiltration, Daz Bones to cut through anyone, and Nico Robin for authority, only a few among his team. Crocodile did nothing wrong, he worked very hard to get where he was, by meticulously planning and carrying out his actions.
- Enel: This dude was a certified Lightning God in his turf. He had a busted Logia fruit commanding authority, his only wish was that his subjects revere his presence. That isn't too much to ask for when he is one able to annihilate anything in the vicinity. And its not like he is weak, its just that Luffy was the perfect counter. Even if someone is strong physically, Enel makes up that shortcoming by having impressive Future Sight and CoO awareness to ascertain threats before they emerge. Unlike Crocodile, Enel coasted off his fruit without much diligence. In the world of Skypeia, why be a king when you can be an unrivaled God? He was justice itself, therefore absolved of all sins.
- Blueno: He was carrying out orders. He has no free will.
- Rob Lucci: He was carrying out orders. He has no free will.
- Gekko Moria: He was attempting to build a crew to become Pirate king. That's a valid reason for his actions.
- Caesar Clown: For hookers and booze and to become Worlds Most Intelligent Scientist, enough of a pass.
- Monet: Her God was Doflamingo, people do strange things when they're deeply religious. She is redeemed since she was carrying out orders under her own free will.
- Doflamingo: His backstory bruh. He'd seen heaven and hell before 8. He has plenty reason to destroy the thing the Heavens rule.
- Charlotte Cracker: He was following orders.
- Holdem: He was following orders.
- Snitchman Basil Hawkins: He was sucking up to Kaido. Kaido is the guy that just off screened the MC after 1000 chapters being the first.
- Scratchman Apoo: He was already a Beast Pirate. He was following orders.
- Page One/Ulti: They love and respect Kaido like a King, they already believe that Kaido will be the PK. Wano and Onigashima is their own Turf, it was the alliance that attacked them. They are just defending themselves.
- Queen: His role as one of Kaido's right hands is to break wills to make Kaido's army stronger to fulfill his will of becoming PK. His reasoning is very valid.
- Hundred Beast Kaido: To become the strongest, to defeat and fight the strongest, to spread chaos throughout the world, to become PK, to create the largest War in the world, to go out like a Boss. His goal is to become a Certified Platinum OG in death. That is admirable. What a goat.
- Marshall D. Teech: Patiently waited 20+ years for a fruit and orchestrated the biggest finesse in the history of One Piece, while shattering the known physics of Devil Fruit Usage becoming Yonko within 2 years of achieving his first goals. All is forgiven given his patience and intellect of hitting where and when it hurts, being there at the right moment and right time.
- Celestial Dragons: They have ruled as Gods for 800-900 years. They deserve it, they could plunge the world into even more darkness but they choose not to. The One Piece World Population should be thankful that the only thing they do is own and use slaves. They built the strength, military, and sub militaries through time and effort, and other unknown reasons. Hard work, time, and effort paid off, that's why they reign like Gods.
