Eastern Chinese myth believe that during an eclipse. The dragon really devouring the sun. And to combat it you need to use drum to scare the dragon away. Does it connected to drum of liberation in someway? I also think the eclipse has something to do with void century. It maybe just me and probably a reach but the symbol of

celestial dragon seems to indicate that the hoof of a dragon able to conquered the sun. The sun seems to be on the dragon hoof grasp. So when sun pirate change the celestial symbol into the sun symbol. It seems the sun has break free from being conquered and in the dragon grasp.

maybe they got to call themselves gods on the grounds that 'no mere mortal could devour the sun'. however, what remains unexplained is imu and how she figures into all this. another thing that isn't explained by the eclipse theory is the special role of the D clan.

Kaidou's Fruit was taken from God's Valley & i believe it was their National Treasure there cuz it's needed to Re-Awaken Ancient Kingdom, similar to how Birkans had Enel's DF which turned out to be Power Source of their Moon City

As for Imu, i believe the only reason CDs are Protected & allowed to live like Gods on Earth is because of their Bloodline that is required for Mary Geoise National Treasure. In other words, for said Treasure to be used, one from each Family needs to be Sacrificed, hence why Imu wanted Vivi captured

And seeing how Ancient Robot tried to intervene somehow (Which Kuma is repeating now), it seems to be related to Fishmen & precisely Shirahoshi. I believe that Imu's Goal is to bring back the Person who will wear that 2nd Straw Hat, and who wants Shirahoshi for himself, who is also related to Drugs used by Hody & his Crew (Which was Fishmen Island's National Treasure)

And according to Legends, that Box held the Lifespan of someone granting him immortality, which is indeed what happened to Hody's Crew, They aged so much as if they consumed someone else's lifespan

So Sacrificing 20 People, New Straw Hat, Shirahoshi Picture, Tamtebako Box & Drug inside it, Summoning an Immortal Foe ... etc
All indicate that Imu's Plan is to actually Revive none other than "Vander Decken" (Basically OP's Davy Jones)

But it's not really Revive, it's more like He was preserved, thanks to Scientists & that's why CDs Suits look like that.
If you go check Vander Decken's Legend, He threw his Crew off the Ship & then Sea God cursed him with Immortality, but obviously it's the opposite, in other words that God (Final Villain) granted Vander Decken Immortality which required Sacrifice of his Crew who are somehow related to CDs

And He didn't just kill them, He threw them off the Ship, which not only confirms They weren't Fishmen but it also means that They must be thrown somewhere in the Ocean & that seems to be none other than Enies Lobby

Anyway, this is the first step of Imu's Plan, things will go to Hell once Vander Decken returns
