Official summary: Yhwach absorbs the Soul King. A "torrent of power" begins to overflow from his body, turning into a muddy, pitch-black current that attacks the Soul Society. The "torrent" covers the Shakonmaku and blankets the earth. It is a swarm of giant, humanoid eyeball-like beings that bare their fangs at the Shinigami, the enemies of the Quincy. The members of the Gotei 13 fight back but are gradually engulfed by the endless, overwhelming power. Appearing before the desperate Shinigami is Sōsuke Aizen, the former captain of the 5th Division and a criminal who committed high treason by leading the Arrancar against the Shinigami. What is Kyōraku's goal in taking Aizen out of prison?
