The big leagues are calling
Universal Orlando Resort officials have confirmed "construction activity" is forthcoming for a themed area within Islands of Adventure.
The independent theme park outlets, along with others such as Orlando Park Stop, have speculated the area will be re-themed to an intellectual property such as Nintendo's "Legend of Zelda."
Eurogamer, an outlet covering the video game industry, reported in 2024 that one of the main producers of the series was shown in a video alongside another Nintendo executive sporting a hard hat and walking around Epic Universe's construction site. The video was later removed from social.
Another rumor is the area being rethemed to the popular anime and manga series, "One Piece." This IP was featured at Universal Studios Hollywood's Fan Fest Nights, and it would fit with the overall Islands of Adventure theme of each land at the park being themed to a book.
"The Universal IP is our bread-and-butter and the foundation of our work. But we're not afraid to go outside when we see an opportunity to drive business with the unique properties like Harry Potter or Nintendo," Woodbury said
