First his base design was absolutely awesome.

Second before becoming a full drug addict Nazi they could have used him as slowly seeing the light in Nika... I mean humans... And realizing he was wrong about it maybe... Would have much bigger impact than him being just a generous piece of shit.

Hell they even tried to give Big Mom a sad story... So why not him.
