Virginia Giuffre, known as Virginia Robert’s at the time, was first approached at Mar-a-Lago, known as President Trump’s Winter White House, by Ghislaine Maxwell, one of her pedophile rapists and traffickers, to give a massage, only a massage, to Jeffery Epstein. Unbeknownst to Guiffre, Epstein was the leader of a sex trafficking ring for billonaires, oligarchs, and even Prince Andrew, Duke of York. Maxwell noticed Guiffre was studying a book on massage and offered her a job prospect to massage Epstein for $200. At the time, Virginia was working at Mar-a-Lago as a teenage spa attendant, earning only $9 an hour, so this opportunity appeared to be a windfall for her. When she arrived, Epstein was naked.
Virginia Giuffre was hired to be a traveling masseuse for Epstein and was sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein, Ghilaine Maxwell, many of Epstein’s business associates including Prince Andrew, Duke of York. Maxwell sexually groomed Guiffre to be, “... passed around like a platter of fruit,” and have sex with a myriad of wealthy, powerful, influential men with whom Epstein vindictive business. This occurred over a 2 1/2 year period of time that Guiffre described as “wicked” and a “really scary time.”
While attending massage trading courses for massage in Thailand, Virgins Guiffre met and quickly married her husband, Robert Guiffre, an Australian martial arts instructor. She contacted Epstein and told him she was not returning to her life with him and Maxwell. She moved to Australia, cut off all contract with Epstein and Maxwell, raised children, and worked on recovering from her trauma.
After 5 years, Epstein and Maxwell were being investigated for sexually abusing other underage girls and they contacted Guiffre to see if she has spoken to the FBI. The FBI reached out to her and eventually she spoke with them and the Australian authorities after learning she had been identified as a member of the human sexual trafficking ring and a victim of Epstein and Maxwell.
Virginia’s strength, advocacy, and perseverance inspired other victims and survivors to speak out, file charges, and demand to be heard after Epstein had received a secret sweetheart plea deal with Alex Acosta. Epstein, who had been accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls pleaded guilty to state charges in Florida of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. Note that these underage girls were not legally axle to consent, and none of them were sex workers. This plea deal permitted Epstein to avoid a potential life sentence, instead serving 13 months in a work-release program. He registered as a sex offender, and made nominal monetary settlements to the victims.
Virginia Guiffre, unsatisfied with the secret plea deal that was made without consulting or disclosed to any of the victims of Epstein, lead the victims to advocate and challenge the US federal government to investigate and charge these extremely powerful, wealthy, well connected, and influential predators to seek justice for the atrocities they faced as children. Ultimately, the federal government arrested Epstein, but he died in his jail cell before his trial began. His death was ruled to be suicide, though many conspiracy theories exist.
Epstein’s procurer, partner in operating the sex trafficking ring, and pedophile and rapist, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a sentence of 20 years for sex trafficking.
Sadly, the recent release of the “unredacted” Epstein File by Pam Bondi brought more scruitiny, stress, and trauma to Virginia Guiffre. Following a recent car accident, Virginia Guiffre’s family announced today that she took her own life at the age of 41. She is survived by her husband and 3 children.
This is a tragic loss, not only for her family and the 35 (at least) other young survivors of the Epstein Sex Trafficking Ring, but for all of the victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse, exfoliation, trafficking, trauma, and the world.
