With the Battle of Wano fast approaching, I feel we could get a similar situation to Enies Lobby were for the first time since the Timeskip we will see the entire Strawhat Crew not only go all out. but could even show off new weapons or abilities.
While I don't believe Usopp will ever get an actual gun, I do believe he does need an upgrade to his slingshot. With the help of Franky and possibly some Dials Nami collected during her time on the Sky Islands. Usopp can fully combine his Green Pops, Dials and skills in a better weapon.
(Something more like this) Just add Dials and Green Pops.
With his Current Slingshot, the fact it requires two hands to use seems more like a hindrance than a advantage. Plus the full size of it for Usopp seems slightly to big. (If he also used it as a melee weapon with his Green Pops than maybe) to Me, Usopp needs something he can use with One Hand and (Possibly) can reload itself quickly so in combat he can focus on shooting and dodging.
Even getting two of them to Dual Wield.
Also Spring Jet Dial Boots.
