Speculations Vander Decken failed Joy Boy?

#1
According to Brook's recollection, Vander Decken was a pirate who went mad, threw his crew overboard, cursed God and was forced to roam the sea forever as punishment. But what if we try to rearrange this statement using retrospective knowledge? Then it would make sense that he:
- Was a pirate who stood up against Imu (cursed God)
- Was in possession of Mato Mato no Mi or Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and, as a last ditch effort, sent his crewmates flying to safety when they were attacked by Imu (threw his crew overboard)
- Got hit with Domi Reversi (went mad)
- Ended up stuck in a Deep Current (forced to roam the sea)

Now, why would Imu bother with some Vander Decken when there are Joy Boy and Davy D. Jones to worry about? Well, maybe he was doing something crucial. Something that would have something to do with Harley Text, obsession of Vander Decken IX and Joy Boy's apology. Something that, if failed, would plunge the world into 800 years of despair. For example, at a crucial moment Joy Boy needed to simultaneously have all three Ancient Weapons in the same place. Decken was on his way to Fishman Island to retrieve Poseidon for the final battle or give her a call to action. And his failure undermined the whole plan. "Man (Nerona Imu) killed the sun (Ancient Kingdom) and became god, and the sea god stormed (Poseidon beginning her battle too little too late, after the war was already lost). And they (Ancient Weapons) will never meet". All that was left for Joy Boy was to inscribe crucial information onto the unbreakable stones and put his hope on the future generations, one of the stones containing the apology for not reaching Poseidon when it was needed. And over the generations, Decken's quest to reach Poseidon was warped into selfish obsession.
