So in the span of wano, Luffy has basically gotten every single power up imaginable. He has mastered all 3 forms of haki and he has awakened his DF, which Oda decided to turn into some sort of legendary ability.
But then what is left for Luffy to master against Teach or Imu? Kaido obviously isn't the last villain of one piece. Will Luffy just not get power ups against the final villains?
This goes back to a theory I have had for quite some time now. That VOAT(voice of all things) is a power up.
I first came to this conclusion when we were shown Roger vs Whitebeard in the Oden flashback. Up until then, the common opinion was that the reason Roger=WB despite WB having the gura gura no mi was the possibility that Roger's haki was better. Yet in Roger vs WB, it appears as if their haki was equal. So if Roger and WB had equal haki, how could they be equal in strength when the gura gura no mi exists?
If WB had the power to destroy the world, Roger must have had an equal power to be WB's equal. That power imo, is very likely to be VOAT, as VOAT is the last of Luffy's/Roger's abilities that has remained unexplored.
If haki+DF mastery is required to beat Kaido, then Luffy needs something even greater to beat Teach and Imu. VOAT is one of the most exclusive powers in one piece. We've seen countless awakening users in the new world and many advanced haki users as well, yet VOAT seems to be exclusive to even less characters. Those being:
Lastly, I think VOAT might be enhanced by the true power of the gomu gomu no mi, as zunesha implies this was Joyboy's fruit. Overall, ACoC made Luffy an emperor, awakening made him Joyboy, but I think it is through VOAT that Luffy will become a literal god in the one piece world.
