Hachinosu is an important island. It is full of dangerous criminals and has gold stores beneath it.
The WG, Xebec, and Teach all wanted it.
So it just makes no sense for such a valuable island to land up in the hands of a character like Wang Zhi, who to our knowledge isn’t affiliated with any major faction.
Sure WZ might have been strong. But the marines have no qualms going after non yonko pirates. How many admirals could WZ hold off? Also, why was he never a candidate for yonko or shichibukai?
Given how we know the WG wanted hachinosu, I think it would make a lot of sense if WZ was a government plant. He might have stolen the treasure of hachinosu for the WG, setting up the events of God Valley. Further betrayed Rocks in GV causing his demise. Then operated Hachinosu until Teach took it from him.
We know Teach has clashed with CP0 in the past, and Drake(Koby’s superior) had some issues with them in wano. So Wang Zhi being CP0 would fit with CP0’s other conflicts with the BBP and sword.
Also WZ seems to have a snake tongue, indicating a zoan. Most of CP0 has zoans.
Ultimately it doesn’t make much sense for Lucci to be the leader of CP0. Sure he is strong, for an org that guards the CDs, you would think there would be at least one top tier among them.
I think WZ could serve this function. Making CP0 a legitimately dangerous organization for the allies in the final war. A serious threat to the revolutionaries and the good marines.
