Chapter Discussion Was Balckbeard going to go after Luffy's fruit?

So, Teach said if the WG doesnt want it, i'll take it myself. We know for a fact that teach is incredibly intelligent and knows a lot about history and Devil fruits and also we know that teach is probably looking for his third devil fruit... is it possible that he knows and wanted to take it from Luffy?

Well, this wouldnt be the first time villains chase Luffy.

I can totally see it being one of the reasons why Teach will try to kill Luffy in the future. 🤔
