Character Discussion Was Bartholomew Kuma inspired by John Coffey?

#1
While thinking about possible actors to play Bartholomew Kuma in Live Action, I thought about how perfect Michael Clarke Duncan would be in the role, if he were alive.
So I started thinking about some similarities between Kuma and John Coffey, the character played by MCD in the movie The Green Mile.

Let's start with the most obvious: both are black and have a very tall stature.

They both seem threatening at first, but later you discover that they are kind.

Both are sensitive and special (Kuma belongs to a special race), possessing healing powers, repelling people's pain and externalizing it.

John Coffey tried to save two little girls from death, while it is theorized that the real Jewelry Bonney died and Kuma tried to save her, resulting in her being cloned and saving her memories.

Both suffered from a false accusation: John Coffey was accused of having murdered two little girls and Kuma of being a tyrant when King of the Sorbet Kingdom.

Both have a past where they suffered physical torture and slavery.

And finally, George Stinney Jr., the boy who inspired John Coffey's character, was the youngest person sentenced to death in the 20th century in the United States. During the trial, until the day of his execution, he always carried a Bible in his hands, pleading his innocence.
