Caribou and Coribou are rookies, they only started their crew during the timeskip. I doubt they did honest work before. Probably helped their father, the ruler of Pirate Island, Ochoku. Maybe Caribou behaved like Helmeppo did on Shellstown. What a contrast that would be to his life now, where he gets kicked around and has to beg to the people beating him up. There must be alot of resentment towards Teach, maybe he mixes in some falsehoods into the information he is about to give him.
