My personal favorite blunder from him is when Hancock fought the Marines and then Blackbeard and he never once considered having her use a Conq blast to try and scare them off (which would also make Blackbeard's comments about her strength feel more natural).

I would bet you five bucks that Oda won't give women CoC. That's why the whole PoL side of haki was introduced. Some of the more "passionate" characters (meaning, Sanji and most chicks) will get PoL as an alternative to CoC, because for them love is more important than winning fights.

Past a certain age, women deteriorate into these money/power hungry things like we've seen with Miss Buckingham and with the SHs' (Nami/Robin) bad timelines. Hags are their own categories. I can totally see Oda give CoC to Dr Kureha, but not to Hancock.

Actually didn't Sanji outright say he was cool with Luffy hitting Big Mom specifically because she's ugly and obese? Not even because she, yknow, threatened to behead his adoptive father who saved his life, but simply because she's not genetically gifted appearance-wise.
