Now that you mention it,that frozen island has a very strange mountain on it.Looks like some kind of mecha stuff,but frozen.

Note that the ancient professor (forgot his name) had not been to the moon before and we don't know what caused the explosion. Maybe the professor lived in the void century and the moon was already populated at this time.
So the technologic civilisation might be even older than the ancient kingdom, or there was an even earlier one.
