I strongly doubt the current flashback featuring Brook/Gunko will only be about those two. Brook already had a flashback and Gunko by herself isn't that important.
We are now in the final phase of the story and already had the Rocks/God Valley flashback. I seriously doubt Oda would go from that to "side character villain getting some flavor".
Instead, I am pretty sure the "Gunko flashback" is an excuse to learn more about Imu and his powers, although I don't know yet what exactly. Probably in the context of Gunko going to Mary Geoise. Something like:
- How Holy Knights receive their powers and are (probably) controlled by Imu
- Maybe even deeper lore related to Imu's past, abilities, weaknesses
- I have also read the theory of Imu maybe inhabiting the body of the Queen. Not sure about that, but interesting thought.
In any case, I would be very surprised if all this flashback revealed was "Gunko was good, Imu controls her, Brook can now reverse this due to their bond and turn her against Imu"
