It was inspired by this thread, Where some guy brought up it was a rinnegan ability not true obviously but that got me thinking, What does allow a person to summon these rods

jigen can use them and so can obito pre rinnegan
So what's the deal, Can just anyone use them or what?

It’s a technique that you can use if you posses the “body” of the Sage. Madara could use it to leave a mark of his will without the rinnegan because he had both chakras, same could be said for Obito who has Hashirama cells

if it has to do senjutsu or haguromo, the rods that being then how does jigen use them
he has no connection to ether thing same thing goes for ms obito who fought konan and pein to a lesser extent

idk who this jigen guy is but obito had both uchiha and senju dna, in theory he possessed the sage body

if that's what you mean then that's not true as white zetsu arent actually related to hashirama but rather humans captured by the god tree, You can thank the kaguya retcons for that

was it retconned in boruto? in naruto it is clear the hashirama cells contributed to the revival of zetsu and obito and madara outright say they have senju dna

it was retconed in naruto
Madara was wrong all this time and zetsu was actually kaguya's will

It's just poorly wrote, the intention was always to have zetsu be clones of hashirama but that changed at the end of the story
