Questions & Mysteries What if Luffy actually knew his mom?

#1
With the recent appearence of Tritoma in the manga, many people speculated that she may be Luffy's mom

But,recently,i thought something: As far as we know,Luffy had no idea who his father was, because when Garp reveals his name (Dragon) to him,he seems to have never even asked this question to himself, about who his father was. But Luffy never says anything about his mother,in that situation.
We know that, after the Shanks "incident" Garp takes Luffy to Dadan, but before that, how did he lived?
He was friend with Makino, the Mayor, and with Shanks, but Luffy surely had some place to live. And do we have to think he was living alone?? Maybe...there was him mom with him!

Also,we have this promotional panel for the "Red" movie, that should be canon as it was a panel made by Oda,where we see a woman with a baby,a baby that is not Uta

So,what if Luffy actually lived the first years of his life with his mother, and then the real reason why Garp did bring him to live with Dadan, was not only because of what happened with Shanks, but also because his mother was dead? In this way,Luffy actually got to knew his mother, and maybe he will reveal it himself one day, maybe when he'll meet Dragon.

While I appreciate the theories about Toritoma being Luffy's mother, I don't buy it because they only give birth to chicks.

That said to your second point, Luffy's mother may never be expounded on in the main story because Oda doesn't treat the SH family members as individually important simply for their relationship.

Oda has always put extreme importance on emphasizing that the Strawhats are "found family" and that bloodlines are unimportant to their relationships. The characters that Oda has introduced family into the main story (Luffy, Sanji, Nami, Usopp and Robin) are due to the profound impact they had on those characters in their youth and development. Bellemere/Olivia bore forth deep emotional attachments for Nami and Robin to break free from, Sora was Sanji's humanity imagined while Judge was his deep-seated genetic malignity, Usopp's father is quite literally his inspiration, and Garp was responsible for Luffy's fighting endurance (and ya Dragon exists because he's """""important""""" for the story however let's just ignore Mr. DoesNothingMan).

But that's it. The other parental figures for the Strawhats are either shoved into SBS trivia as a meme, or never even touched on. Zoro's lineage was in an SBS, Franky's dad was maybe implied to be fucking Queen in an SBS but otherwise presumed just pirates that abandoned him, Brook's are never touched on because they came from the Jurassic era, Robin's dad is never mentioned, we don't know Nami's birth parents, Jinbei came from an egg, and Chopper's parents were literal animals.

So in other words, if the character in question 1) did not have a profound impact on their childhood and development and 2) were/are never going to be integral to the plot, then Oda is likely not going to spend much of any time on them in the main story. Maybe SBS trivia, or maybe nothing at all. Because after all, the Strawhats are family with ties thicker than blood.

I don’t believe in the found family, I have no respect for people that do and I believe that the blood relation supersedes found families.

I betrayed many people who did think that about me in the past, they were naive to think I hold a similar kind of values to them, aside from my parents, I love no one.

Xebec/Blackbeard be like:

Even funnier since that is Blackbeard ofc lol^. He's more like Jack Sparrow too in portrayal here, his delivery. Hugh Jack(edman/Wolverine channeling Jack Sparrow for Blackbeard....Jack Black?! Blackjack?!

If the Rocks crew tried to turn on Xebec, this should have happened:

3:20 was fucking horrifiying too^. Most savage pirate ever, along with how he tricked his daughter to try sacrifice herself to make him immortal too.

POTC had some fucking awesome pirate characters as expected ofc, Jack Sparrow, Barbossa and Blackbeard himself. I love this series so much but I fear the new films if they ever happen, will never live up to the glory of these previous films. (Even though the 4th and 5th films were so hated but I loved them still and even the 2nd and 3rd ones got a lot of high, but people revere them a lot now instead.)

Hmmm....doesn't this sound like the Rocky Port incident with Law too?

A deleted scene from the third movie, At World's End, provides a key part of Jack Sparrow's backstory. The scene reveals that Jack once worked for Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Trading Company. He was tasked with transporting cargo, but defied orders by freeing the enslaved people he was meant to deliver. As a result, Beckett had Jack's ship burned and sunk. Jack then became a pirate and made a deal with Davy Jones to raise his ship, which is why the vessel is charred black and known as the Black Pearl. According to a podcast, Davy Jones valued Jack Sparrow's life at 100 souls, which is roughly the number of slaves Jack had freed.

It's funny how Xebec likes to box as per Davy Back Fights too and we have "Rocks" and "Rocky Port" lmao. Gonna Fly/Sail Now.

Wait wasn't the man marked by flames said to have a black ship? OOOOOOOOOODAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Law took a 100 pirate hearts from Rocky Port or w/e to use as bargaining chip to join the WG as a Warlord!
