We get a lot of different clans in One Piece but never really get their significance. I’m just curious, what do you all think makes the Davvy clan special?

All headcannon and theories are welcome I’m aware that we don’t actually know.

Davy D. Sure sounds like it’s a play on the King David who’s the king of an ancient civilization and is known in Japanese culture as was the inspiration for the main villain of Magi.

Also the way Davy is written in Kana is literally “De-Vi-“ which as we know from raftel, oda is fine hiding clues in English puns. Plus the fact that all devil fruit users are basically given the same curse as Davy jones is also a huge point of question.
