It's not about animation it's about the artstyle and which era's artstyle you like more.

By the looks of it you seem to like the 90s and 00s more.

Maybe Blue's thread is weirdly formatted for it. But the artstyle usually goes back to the original manga style. So in this case it is 90% inspired by a manga work unless it is a novel or anime original.

Going into that you have stuff like Bleach that has a unique art style with very thin bodies and faces. And it is not compareable to other series or eras.

Interesting fact is that, when it comes to games, I prefer the good ol' 2D JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI but for anime it's the opposite basically.

2010s and 2020s for sure, i actually like 2000s general artstyle the least, less than 90s and on that aspect Anime like Code Geass and so on tend to age poorly for me.
