I’m gonna resist my inner fanboy and say his fight with Crocodile.

Luffy vs Lucci. It was a near death fight. Luffy vs Crocodile is a close second though. Luffy vs Hody is third.

So Luffy vs Kaido is written to be a gag fight, which it absolutely is.

I completely agree, although Katakuri/Lucci are close, there's no denying Luffy's fight with Kaido was the most brutal by far.
