Nothing unpredictable. I had posited Julius would somehow nerf/interfere with Lucius in the deciding moment. In the end it's a typical shonen ending. Bad guy lost, good guys won, damage reversed, only one has to die. Nothing too crazy.
The craziest thing about Black Clover and what actually garnered it attention was the Lucius bit. That's the stretch of chapters where the manga was elevated beyond it's consistent level imo.
