Questions & Mysteries What you think about Earth, Forest and Sea Gods in Murals?

#2
I don't think the other Gods can be the remaining Yonko. If only because Shanks doesn't have a Devil Fruit. So, he seems to be out of the running right away. Unless his sword secretly has one of the remaining God Fruits, I don't think it's possible for Shanks to be one.

As for the other Gods being part of The Twelve, that seems possible.

We can rule out a few more right away. I don't think Kuzan, Sabo, Shamrock, Shanks, Dragon, or Koby are really strong candidates for any of the Gods that we know. Of all of these, Monkey D Dragon is really the only potential candidate, but I think he likely has a Wind or Storm Fruit, which doesn't quite fit with the Gods we know.

Personally, if the Gods are characters that we know, my bets would be on:

Imu is probably the Forest God. I know a lot of people think Imu will turn out to be the Sea God, but I just don't think that fits what we know about them. Imu lives on the Red Line, as far away from the ocean as is possible on this world. Why do that if you can CONTROL the sea? If we assume the “Tree Dragon” is the Forest God, it actually makes a bit of sense for Imu to be the Forest God. Imu seems to have a “Yokai” form very similar to a dragon, as we saw in Chapter 1085. There was even some sort of creature hanging onto the wall facing doward, in a very similar pose to this “Tree Dragon” from the mural. Imu spends a lot of their time in a butterfly garden. Imu’s crown is tall, like a tree. “Imu” is the OPPOSITE of “Umi” the Japanese word for the ocean. Imu seems to have the ability to grant people Devil Fruit-like “Yokai” powers, and the Forest God seems to have “created” the Devil Fruits. Imu lives on top of the Red Line in Mariejois, possibly right on top of the Sunlight Tree Eve, just like the “Tree Dragon” is shown living on top of a tree in The Mural. I think Imu just fits the Forest God the best out of the Skypiean Gods.

The next best candidate is Blackbeard. Blackbeard is likely...something. I'm not 100% sure what. An alternate version of Nika from those Nika was warring against would have been interesting. A villainous version of Nika, as seen by his enemies. But, it's also possible that Blackbeard's "Darkness" Fruit is also secretly the Sea God Fruit. The "Darkness" may just be the abyss of the ocean, rather than the darkness of outer space. Blackbeard does have the ability to completely nullify Devil Fruit powers. Which is similar, but not the same, as the effect water has on Devil Fruit users. Blackbeard's different personalities and the references to the number 3 may also hint at this. Due to the three states water can be in: Liquid, Ice, and Gas. Even Aokiji joining his side may be a hint that Blackbeard is actually the Sea God. Because the Ice Fruit may be "aligned" with the Sea God, in a similar way that Ace and Sabo's Flame Fruit could be "aligned" with the Sun God. I think Blackbeard would actually make a lot of sense for the Sea God. Who's probably the "Fallen Angel" holding the Sun on the left side of The Mural.

As for the Earth God...that's one that's I'm the most uncertain about. The Earth God is probably represented by the "Hellflame Serpent" on the right side of the mural. Thusly, all Four of the Gods are filled in with Black, just like Nika on the Mural.

Akainu's Magma Fruit turning out to be the Earth God Fruit would actually make a lot of sense. We know that the Earth God has a connection to the Hellflame Serpent. And probably to the First World's Underground Mining Operation. So, the Earth God already has a lot of connections to "fire". And the Sun and Earth Gods seemed to have a bit of a rivalry in the First World, just like Luffy and Akainu do now, due to Ace's death. It would just make a lot of sense for the Earth God Fruit to secretly BE the Magma Fruit. The only problem is...it might be a touch TOO obvious? If we assume all the God Fruits are "hidden" like Luffy's was, then it doesn't really make a lot of sense for the Earth God Fruit to be so obvious in it's powers. It's so obviously a potential candidate for the Earth God, that it kind of makes me doubt that it actually is. Plus, I'm not sure if it makes sense for the Earth and Forest Gods to actually be allied with each other, if we assume Imu is the Forest God.

We don't know what Garling's ability will turn out to be yet. So, he's still on the table. We don't have any proof of what he can do one way or another. So, he's a candidate...but not a particularly strong one. He's probably going to get a "Yokai" power, like the other Gorosei, not the Earth God powers. So, he gets a nod. But, I wouldn't put money on him.

Buggy's Chop Fruit being the Earth God is...possible. Even if it only kind of fits. Buggy having one of the God Fruits would actually make sense, given his curiously good luck. It would make sense if there was a God looking out for Buggy and making sure he succeeds. The Chop Fruit could either fit the Forest God (like "chopping wood"), or the Earth God (as in "splitting the earth"), the best. It would be a twist. But, at the same time, it's not a great fit either. Possible, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't, either. Personally, if there is a "Moon God", I actually think Buggy would be a decent candidate for that. Because of his link to Luffy, and because his "chopping" could be a reference to the different phases of the Moon.

He's not a part of The Twelve, but I feel like Caribou's Swamp Fruit is up for consideration to be the Earth God. The Swamp Fruit is basically the "Mud" Fruit. And "mud" definitely feels like it could be secretly hiding the powers of the Earth God. Plus, Caribou's ability to store almost limitless amounts of stuff into his mud "pocket dimension" feels like the kind of power a "Secret God" would have. Caribou's Swamp Fruit feels like it fits the "hidden" part of the God Fruits the best. Even if the powers it's displayed so far aren't as impressive as the Magma Fruit.

Theoretically, we also may be missing a God. Because, so far, the Four Gods line up pretty well with the Wuxing Elements. Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, and Metal/Gold. This also lines up with the names of the 5 Gorosei, named after the 5 planets, which are each named after one of these elements in Japanese. And the days of the week.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuxing_(Chinese_philosophy)
https://workinjapan.today/study/the-days-of-the-week-the-planets/

So, if we're going with the days of the week, we could see a Metal God, as well as a Moon God (which could be Blackbeard, or Law, or Buggy).

For the Metal God, I think there's a couple different good candidates in the story.

Sengoku's Daibutsu Fruit definitely fits the bill. He's a giant golden metal statue of a Buddha. He's ALREADY a god. It works. But, a lot like with Akainu, he might be too obvious.

There's also Kid's Magnet Fruit. He can control metal with it. That's all I got, but that's all I really need. It's better "hidden" then the Daibutsu Fruit, so I think it fits better as a "Secret God" Fruit.

So, for right now, my guesses are this. Imu is the Forest God. Blackbeard is the Sea God. Caribiou is the Earth God. Kid is our missing "Metal" God. And Buggy is our possible Moon God.

...I'm probably wrong, but I guess we'll see in time. There's also the strong possibility that the Gods are actually new characters that we haven't even met yet. Oda does love designing new characters. But, we'll see which way he goes with it.

Forest god released Demons upon the world - Ancient King of Elbaf referring to the Onis who were known as continent pullers

Earth God raging - The dragon creature in the first mural, its rage caused Pangaea to split into continents

Ocean god - Probably just Poseidon or it could be dark horse Vivi who flooded the world to separate the poneglyphs

Imu is the earth god

The forest god died and its body is the whale tree on Zou, it has an offspring which is soon to be born which was the egg Roger carried on board his ship and left at Raftel, which will open only when hearing the sound of the sun god. The forest god created the devil fruits by giving form to the dreams and ambitions of people in the form of fruits from trees.

The sea god remains to be discovered, perhaps being the thing the crew passed by in the Florian Triangle

Luffy is the sun god

God is a word used too commonly by many people when some events are just way beyond their scope of comprehension and capability. In truth, there are no gods in One Piece world that is proven by Imu using ancient weapon Uranus. People called it Sea God because they said what they saw, lots of tsunamis and sea level raised. They don't know what actually caused it. It is the same for Earth God, Forest God, and possibly Rain God. All of them are caused by something else.
All these Gods are legend of the past and in no way refers to any of the current emperors. They are somehow trying to imitate what the legend were told. Blackbeard trying to be the "Earth God" by having the Earthquake and Darkness power. Imu is still the "Sea God" because he is responsible for the rise of sea level. Luffy is just being himself naturally.
