Gear 2nd replaced Luffy's regular fighting style and got a lot more exposure, even when something like Gear 3rd was around. Both forms had their utilities and you felt a certain weight when Luffy used them pre timeskip.
Sage Mode wasn't impressive when Jiraiya used it but Naruto was absolutely broken with it. IMO his sage mode moment is much more similar to Gear 4th than it is to the other gears. He proceeds to dominate the strongest character in the series at that point (albeit nerfed) and felt so overwhelming.
What hurts sage mode is the fact it's rarely used after this and Kyuubi Chakra Mode (and later Bijuu mode,) are simply better than Sage Mode. It can give Naruto a different type of chakra, durability and better sensing, but Kyuubi Chakra Mode gives him better chakra, more of it, makes him the fastest shinobi in the Alliance... And this comes 77 chapters after Naruto uses sage mode for the first time.
So I think I'd go with gear 2nd. It was better utilized in the manga up until Gear 4th was a thing.

Everything Jiraiya tried flopped besides his ultimate jutsu, he admitted he'd be dead against those 3 Pein's if he tried to take them head on. It didn't convey the same power as Naruto's.

Naruto only won because Jiraya found out everything about them. If jiraya had known that about reviving shit and which pain does what, he would have won as well.

Nah, Sage Mode was exclusively used when Naruto could not use Kurama's chakra for Kyuubi Mode up until he needed it to physically harm Juubito. It's a back up for Naruto at this point in the series and he's made a very clear preference for which he prefers fighting in.
Sage Mode is important later on and it does boost BM a lot, but again, he didn't think of using it until it became the technique to injure Juubito with.

I dont think jiraiya would've won, in fact even Naruto wouldnt win with intel IF pain didnt use up so much chakra fighting whole village and then fighting kurama.
He didnt think of using it because of two reason:
First: Kurama would be jealous if he used frog powers instead of his, thats literally stated lol
Second reason: he didnt know he could use it at same time with KCM, because he failed before.
