General & Others Which was the most touching OP flashback for you?

So, I have been arguing on a thread at WG about the emotional aspect of OP. And it led me to think which OP flashback elicited most emotion when I watched/read it.

For me, it was Montblanc Noland and Calgara flashback followed by Nami's flashback. I would place Law's at third. And even though I am a through-and-through Zoro fan, I think Oda put least amount of effort into it.

Which OP flashback was most emotional for you?

When choosing between These flashbacks, it is Brooks for me. He just saw his Crew dying and couldnt stop it in any way, he cant revenge them, he cant safe them, he only could Play one last song together with them, until he was alone.

They're all incredible and the Skypiea flashback is so criminally underrated

Noland and Calgara.

a battlehardened and mad warrior man god tearing up because some outsider.
Calgara abandoned everything he ever thought was real and right for the off chance that Nolan, a complete stranger to him, is infact capable of curing his friends and family.

the way Noland and Calgara parted ways and then Luffy fulfilling their 400y promise infront of Calgaras descendent makes this the most impactful flashback to date for me.


Brooks is not so heavy for me as Brook already is an adult by the time it happens. he knew what might happen to them if they travelled the grand line. the part where his friends all die 1 after another is more manly than anything else. they know the end is coming and refuse to dispair. Brook being alone for 50y is the actual bad part to me.

Robins flashback was heartwrenching. the moment when Olvia denies that she is Nicos mother always makes me tear up. thats just too much.
oh yeah. also the genocide and years of constant fear of being chased down killed by the government.

Law. understandable that he grows up hating the world. Law as a kid had to watch his family and friends get killed and live on as a walking corpse. then the only guy in the world who truly gives a damn about him anymore dies protecting him. holy balls.

Sanji 1 is great. Zeff eating his own leg so Sanji may survive. unexpected.
Sanji 2 is not a good flashback. probably the worst one so far.

Nami flashback. too much retardation from Bellemere. was too forced for me.

Choppers is quite good. Hiluluk had his heart at the right place even though he was a quack.

Franky one where Iceberg tells Franky that he is glad hes alive is a very moving moment. they do nothing, but bicker yet they care for each other like brothers.

Did not care much for the rest. especially ASL one.
