Kidd escape Udon no problem and Luffy move around Udon like he own the place. Hell Caribu & Raizo even got the keys just not for Luffy's handcuff (LoL) and destroy the den-den muchi network; and if Luffy went through the Ryuo training pre-Udon he could've destroy the collar and beat Queen and run away on his own.

The book prison is a much more interesting, unique, creative and diverse concept. Love it. I'm a big fan of Mont-d'Or's fruit in general too so definitely biased.

Book Prison by far. No one would escape from there unless someone outside set the book on fire while Kid escaped Udon pretty easily.

It depends on what you're looking for. The book prison is better secured, with little means of escape. The prison mines, however, are used to manufacture new weapons for Kaido and Orochi's forces, so it's accomplishing more as a facility.
