Five Elders seem afraid of Garling. When they thought Uta could be his granddaughter, they didn't want to lay a hand on her. He can judge Celestial Dragons, perhaps even the elders. He could be Imu's right hand man. The elders seem to follow Imu purely based on fear. When they talked about using the Mother Flame, they didn't like Imu's decision but were to intimidated to say much. Other top commanders we have seen so far believe in their boss. Many compare Five Elders to Doffy's top executives because of similar looking panels. Trebol, Pica, Diamante and Vergo truly look up to Doffy though. Very different. Dragon talked about the Holy Knights as if they were the real deal.
