Ouhon is a true son of Ouki while Shin is a son of Duke Hyou that he ever wanted.

But seriously though, if I remember correctly, Ousen's wife die shortly after giving birth to Ouhon and thus why Ousen has been cold towards Ouhon. And there was a possibility of Ousen's wife already engaged with a different man before Ousen.
