Shanks and Roger obviously fit the bill the best since they both serve as larger-than-life idols for Luffy, but which one makes more sense?

Shanks. He's the one our protagonist idolizes. Roger's title has always been what Luffy wants but I don't remember ever caring about the man himself.

Shanks speed blitzed Akainu, and all of MF for that matter. Kizaru can’t even speed blitzed Marco
