the way it looked and the conversation between Kizaru and Jay implied Kizaru really doesn't want to do this

personally, i don't agree with this interpretation of the conversation

Sanji is a joke, so pbvoiusly Kizaru. He's the first top tier to be knocked out (although still conscious) with one punch, while Sanji has gone through way more humiliation than anything with the Gorosei. Anyone who says Sanji is a Sanji lover.

Kizaru for sure.

Him going down (at least temporarily) to a single clean hit from G5 is not something probably even the biggest admiral haters would've predicted.
It looks even worse when we see that Lucci was up in a couple of mins after getting downed by Luffy, and he took like 3-4 hits. Granted this attack obviously should be a lot stronger than the one Lucci took, but still..... the optics is horrible here.
With what we have seen now, IMO Kaido would need high-diff at most to defeat Kizaru. While earlier, I used to think it was high diff at minimum and possibly extreme diff. I also used to scale Kizaru above Luffy.

With Sanji, at least we don't know how Saturn's power works, how we scale this, etc.

Huh? Did you miss all the weeks leading up to this?

The Admiral haters were predicting that Luffy wouldn’t even fight Kizaru. When that didn’t happen, they predicted that Luffy would beat him in base.
They also predicted that Gear 4 would be enough and we wouldn’t see Gear 5. They then predicted that 1 regular Gear 5 attack would be enough to knock him out, while Luffy would be just fine right after.

We’ve already gone through several failed predictions, yet Kizaru has only been momentarily knocked down after gassing out 1 round of Gear 5.
We’ve seen similar happen to Kaido with just Paradise Totsuka from the Scabbards.

Seems to be just a short term memory loss moment or expected “agenda piece” from folks disappointed with how long it was taking for Kizaru to even get damaged.
