A random thought occurred to me, and I'm just going to throw it out there.
Imu's "contract" with the Giants mentions a cost of some amount of lifespan. We kind of all assumed that the Giants themselves would be the one's paying the price for their enhanced bodies. But, what if that's not the case?
What if Imu's the one shouldering the price of the lifespan?
It's been pretty heavily speculated that Imu is truly immortal. Imu's likely been alive since at least the Void Century and the Second World. It's entirely possible that Imu has had the Op-Op Fruit's Immortality Surgery and is truly immortal.
If that were the case..."paying" the price for using this spell would basically mean nothing to Imu. Imu literally has ALL the time in the world. Imu could pay any amount of years they would have to, in order to do anything they like. It doesn't matter if these spells cost a few minutes of lifespan, or 1000 years. Imu could pay it. Imu found a way to make the price for using these powers essentially meaningless, and possibly in a way that harms no one. Imu got the hax.
And it kind of makes sense for Imu to be the one paying this price. Because the Giants never actually made a deal with Imu. It's not really a "contract" if one of the parties doesn't "sign on". This is just something Imu forced on the Giants. So, it makes sense to me if Imu is the one who's paying for doing it.
There's also the possibility that Imu is using the Celestial Dragons to "spread out" the cost of these spells. Maybe this spell costs 100 years of lifespan. But, if you spread that out amongst ALL the Celestial Dragons in Mariejois, maybe each Celestial Dragon only has to pay a month or so worth of lifespan. This is the least likely scenario. But, I'll put it out there.
Now, we're going to have to see what happens when Imu's spell almost inevitably breaks. I very much doubt that the Giants will be left in their Demon forms for that long. Luffy or Loki will find a way to free everyone, most likely. Maybe all the Giants will age, like Hodie did after he used the Energy Steroids on Fishman Island. But, if they DON'T age...I might be on the right track here.
Mind, the official Viz translation came out. And the official translation DOES make it sound like it's going to be the Giants who pay the price for this spell. But, the official translation also completely removes any reference to "A Coeurl", likely due to copyright reasons, so it's not a completely accurate translation, etiher.

So, we'll see. I have a hunch Imu's going to turn out to be the person who's actually paying the price for using these powers. It just doesn't matter to Imu, because they're immortal. The wording of this "contract" seems JUST vague enough to interpret it in multiple ways.
