Controversial Whose a character that doesn't deserve the hype they get or vice versa

Here's a question for the class

Who is a character that you believe doesn't deserve the hype or praise they get?

Be it in terms of strength, design, personality etc etc doesn't matter

Also who is a character you believe should be a lot more popular than they are?

For me by far the most overly hyped character not just in terms of strength but in terms of personality and characterization is Oden, he's constantly being compared to top tiers and put on the same pedestal as current Kaido even tho Kaido got much stronger since they fought 20 years ago, the best comparison for Oden is Zoro they're feats are basically 1:1 hell if anything Zoro's are better because he got them on stronger opponents would Oden be in that top echelon he he survived YES easily but to put the Oden we saw there is crazy work, also he wasn't a very interesting character in general and his back story while had neat moments felt dragged out and didn't really make me feel bad for him like many other back stories.


The most underrated character that deserves more Love is my Boy Helmeppo from where he was to where he is, is one of the best character developments in the series, a selfish, greedy, manipulative Nepo baby to a true man that cares about his friends and was one of the first ones to want to go knocking on black beards do to get Koby back, but still very aware of his own strength and not just attacking blindly or alone and even listened to Grus when he advised against it

Roger is considered by many Fans to be Top 1 Candidate (So far)
Whitebeard is considered by many to be Top 1 Candidate
Shanks is also considered by many to be Top 1 Candidate
Xebec is another Major Candidate despite not being Introduced

But Oden? Let's just ignore He was put alongside them & treat him as not even Top 10,
The guy is a Re-Skin of Roger, He is Samurai Roger, i don't understand why are People biased against him,
It's not like you've seen his Full Power either, Tougen Totsuka is only his Signature Attack, that's the Equivalent of Zoro only using Oni Giri,

Comparing Oden to Asura is very Stupid, it's like saying oh look at Power & Destruction caused by Luffy's "King Kong Gun" used against Doffy, it's Greater than Fujitora's Signature Attack "Raging Tiger", then Dressrosa Luffy must be as Strong or Stronger than Fuji, that's nonsense

Raging Tiger was just a Taste of Fuji's Signature Attack (His Equivalent of Pistol), you can't compare it to other Characters using their Full Power, and you can't use it as a showcase of everything said Character can do, like for example, you think Roger's Divine Departure against Oden is everything He can do? lol

Signature Attack is just "Tip of The Iceberg", every time a Character showcases it, it's only a Taste of everything They can do,

Fujitora's First Raging Tiger was only a Small Taste,
Aokiji's First Ice Age was only a Small Taste,
Roger's First Divine Departure was only a Small Taste,
Blackbeard's First Black Hole ...
Akainu's First Dai Funka ...
Ace's First Hiken ...
Kaidou's First Thunder Bagua ...
Garp's Galaxy Impact ...
Kuma's Ursus Shock ...
... etc

None of these Reveals were Fully Serious, it's just them flexing their Fighting Style, just like Luffy using Jet Pistol against Pacifista,
It wasn't even Strongest Pistol He can pull off at the time, and it's still just the tip

But when it comes to Oden, let's get biased? I really wonder why, i'm not really a Fan of him as a Character, but it's not my problem Oda wanted to put him alongside Roger Variants Squad
